Billy has been a professional songwriter since 1985 when he had two songs recorded by The Perrys. The album's title song, "Get Involved" reached #11 on the Southern Gospel charts. Since that time Billy's songs have been recorded by a number of major Gospel groups and soloists (a partial list can be viewed on the Artist Roster page). His songs have been included in choral works published by Lillinas, Word, and Lifeway.
